The present cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytical study was done on 2, middle and high school students of Birjand aged years 1, girls and 1, boys.
The defined borderline and abnormal values stated in by the American Academy of Child, was used. According to our results, it is concluded that: i Adolescents of Birjand have high prevalence of dyslipidemia. Preventive measures are recommended to improve lifestyle, including healthy nutrition, encouraging adolescents to exercise, and more mobility.
The major cause of adult death in the world is cardiovascular disease CVD and is increasing in many of the developing countries such as Iran. Moreover, atherosclerotic plaques increase with age. Similar to other countries, cardiovascular risk factors including obesity are growing among the Iranian children and adolescents.
Dyslipidemia and other risk factors are increasing parallel with the increase of obesity. Then, based on the obtained data, planning and intervention measurements will help reduce cardiovascular mortality in adulthood. Therefore, the study of lipid profile and the prevalence of dyslipidemia especially in children and adolescents are important.
